Archiving & Indexing
The journal is committed to the long-term preservation of its digital content to ensure accessibility and usability by future generations. Recognizing the importance of digital preservation for the scholarly community, we have implemented a multi-faceted approach to archiving our publications. Our strategy includes partnerships and technologies that are at the forefront of digital preservation.
Current Archiving Solutions:
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): We participate in the LOCKSS program, which allows libraries worldwide to preserve access to our journal's content by collecting and storing it in their digital archives. This decentralized model ensures that even in the event of a significant catastrophe, the digital record of scholarly research remains intact and accessible.
-
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): Our involvement with CLOCKSS provides an additional layer of security. CLOCKSS utilizes a global network of redundant archives, protected through a "dark archive" strategy to ensure that content will always be available when needed. In the event of the journal no longer being published, the content becomes freely available via the CLOCKSS archive.
Upcoming Implementation:
- ARK (Archival Resource Key) with NAAN (65328): The journal is in the process of implementing ARK identifiers for our digital objects. This system provides persistent, actionable, and interoperable digital object identifiers, enhancing the accessibility and citation of our content. The NAAN component of ARK ensures that our identifiers are unique and globally recognized, further securing our digital legacy.
